Mary Pasnootsie is a character Jill's grandparents, Flo and Earl Heigle, created to teach their grandchildren life's special lessons. Jill's grandparents would tell her, "Don't hit your brother! Did you hear what happened to Mary Pasnootsie?! After she hit her brother, her arm stuck straight up!". Jill is writing the "Learns her Lessons Well:" series in their honor.
